Bob the Drag Queen is an American Comedian, Activist, Actor, Musician and Reality Television Personality. Caldwell is popularly known for winning the Eighth Season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Christopher Caldwell popularly known as Bob the Drag Queen was born on June 22, 1986 in Columbus, Georgia, and he was raised in Clayton County, Georgia. Caldwell faced a lot of challenges as a drag queen in his beginning of his drag career. As he described, that “he didn’t make money or make any gigs then rather “It cost me a lot”. I did this rivalry every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I never won anything. Ever. After some years later that I finally won one gigs, it’s so amazing and fun for doing competitions.”

In 2009, when he was 23 years old, Caldwell started doing his drag career, after he watched the RuPaul’s Drag Race first season on TiVo. Caldwell explained that he “became passionate” with the show, and this show instantly encouraged him to order a TK-7 makeup kit off in the Ben Nye website then. In his first presentations, Caldwell character was mainly based on stand-up comedy practices, and he started lip-syncing after a couple of months then. In 2013, when he was 27 years old, Caldwell publically changed his stage name to Bob the Drag Queen. However, he explained the reasons why she changed his name at a karaoke hosting gig, stated that “The guy goes, ‘Give it up for your host… Kate. Although, she explained the moment and reintroducing herself as ‘Kate the Drag Queen,’ then ‘Kim the Drag Queen’ throughout the evening. At the end of that same night, I was like, ‘Give it up for… Bob the Drag Queen.’ And I was like, ‘That sounds really funny.'”

On February 1, 2016, Caldwell performed at eighth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race as a cast member. In the show, he was well-known for his focus on comedy. Although, during the show, he won three different challenges, including the recurring “Snatch Game” (where he portrayed Crazy Eyes, as played by Uzo Aduba, and the Carol Channing). In the season’s eighth episode, Caldwell “lipsynced for her life” against Derrick Barry and he won.

On May 16, 2016, Caldwell completed the show and he standout as the winner of the season and received a cash prize of US$100,000.

In June 2019, Caldwell was placed as the eighth of the list of a panel of judges from New York magazine as “the most powerful drag queens in America”, which is ranking of 100 former Drag Race participants.

In 2020, Caldwell started his co-hosting We’re Here on HBO together with fellow Drag Race participants, Eureka O’Hara and Shangela. In the series, the threesome of drag queens travel across the United States to employee small-town residents to partake in one-night-only drag shows in United States.

On April 23, 2020, the series “We’re Here on HBO” was reintroduced for the second season, which is the best on October 11, 2021.

In December 2021, the series “We’re Here on HBO” was reintroduced for the third season. The series has received praise from their opponents.

In 2016, after he won Drag Race, Caldwell released the single “Purse First” featuring DJ Mitch Ferrino. Likewise in 2016, he performed in the music video for MC Frontalot’s “Mornings Come and Go”. Caldwell also work together with Alaska Thunderfuck on the single “Yet another Dig” in 2017 and he contributed to the compilation of the album “Christmas Queens 3”.

In December, 2017, Caldwell work together with Shangela for a Christmas theme song, “Deck A Ho”.

On March 15, 2018, Caldwell debuted the podcast Sibling Rivalry with his drag sister Monét X Change as co-host and produced by DJ Mitch Ferrino.

On April 2, 2018, podcast video version was uploaded to YouTube. Caldwell performed as a guest co-host together with Trixie Mattel on The Trixie & Katya Show, filling in for regular co-host Katya during her hiatus. Her TV comedy special, Bob the Drag Queen: Suspiciously Large Woman, declared on Logo in July 2017.
Caldwell performed the role of Belize in Berkeley Rep’s production of Angels in America from April to July 2018.

In November 2019, KMVT interviewed him about a one-time drag event hosted in Twin Falls, a show that’s highlighting a local drag queens which is introducing international drag talent to Magic Valley. This event was shot as part of Tidicue’s HBO show We’re Here in 2020.

In March 2020, Bob performed alongside fellow drag race alumni BeBe Zahara Benet, The Vixen, Monique Heart, Peppermint, and Shea Couleé in the Nubia tour, a live drag show featuring and produced by Black drag queens.[37][38]
